Current

Will Clift: L’Envol, June 25 through August 31, 2023

A culmination of Will Clift’s year in residency as the 2022 Prix Henry Clews winner, this exhibition includes works in and around the Château grounds. Discover sculptures that were made on site in the last year, created in conversation with the unique setting of La Napoule and the Château. Though it defies a simple translation, the word L’Envol in French is something like “at the edge of flight” or “about to soar.” Harmonious and graceful forms are suspended together in equilibrium, capturing the moment between rest and flight, tension and action.

Past

Laurent Barnavon, May 7-22, 2022

The 2020 Prix Henry Clews was awarded to artist Ana María Hernando. Ana María lives and works in Boulder, Colorado. She is a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for making the invisible visible, devotedly exploring the sacred feminine. Through textiles, painting, collage, poetry, printmaking and installations, she delves into women’s rich histories, nature and her gifts, and the relationship of matter and transcendence. Her work has been presented in major American museums, and is also in prestigious public and private collections. During her residency, she “flood(ed) the garden and the Castle” with her monumental, feminine, and colorful installations.
